On January 29, 2029, Rende Progress Capital [RPC] received the Grand Rapids Business Journal's 'Newsmaker of 2019' award within the finance category. The award was the first-ever to RPC and was given within a nominee group that included two traditional and larger conventional finance institutions.
Eric Foster, Co-founder, Chair and Managing Director of RPC was nominated for the award last year and received it at the Journal's event with business leaders, guests and nominees within 16 categories such as Finance, Health Care, Law, Economic Development and other areas.
“It was a privilege and honor to receive such a wonderful award and recognition by the business community on our work to eliminate the racial wealth gap through small business lending as the nation’s only racial equity loan fund......We have more to do...but on behalf of my colleague and co-founder Cuong Huynh, our customers, staff, board, partners, grantors and investors, I thank the Grand Rapids Business Journal for their acknowledgement of our first-year work in 2019," Foster stated.
